Hello folks hope you’re having a good week so far. I am excited that Children’s Day is coming up this week, (given that I am a child at heart no less, *smiles*. I have been talking to a lot of other people about it no less, and it turns out my friends from Make A Difference Network, (MADN) who have appeared on the blog a few times have a great idea of their own for the day. This is something great to look forward to, especially if you happen to be in Ibadan or anywhere near on Friday May 27th 2016.
To insure that our tomorrow is peaceful, progressive and prosperous, we also have to be fully involved in the total and healthy development of every child today. The care of children can never be overemphasized and children are much more important than they have been overlooked. The protection of our children is the protection of our future. This is why a day is set to consciously remind us of children.
This is why Make A Difference Network (MADN), an initiative for youth and social development, sets out to mark the National Children’s Day, May 27th 2016 in a remarkable and unconventional way called, Fun for Funds. Fun for Funds is a fundraiser exhibition/fair, for children and parents to join in raising funds for the care of less privileged children, while they celebrate Children’s day with free health check ups, lots of stuff to buy, fun activities, educative talks, fantastic prizes to be won at raffle draws and an opportunity to donate clothes, shoes, books, toys and food.
In the Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki – Moon’s exact words, MADN wishes to emphasize the importance of ensuring that the commitments made by the international community to the world’s children are extended to a group of children who are forgotten or overlooked, those deprived of their liberty.
Funds raised and items collected would help MADN reach out to the undeserved and neglected children in a community in Ibadan with gifts and health care they rarely get. Fun For Funds would hold on the 27th May 2016 by 11am at the Palms Shipping Mall, Ring Road, Ibadan. The event is supported by the Palms Shopping Mall, Ibadan.
Join us take a stand against neglect, violence against children and make a difference in the lives of the overlooked children.
